About the Post Nuclear Pest

The Mosquito evolves into the perfect Vessel for transmitting affliction. Unrelenting, Mankind rearranges chromosomes within servile species in a Quest for instant Evolution.

Man digs deep into the Complex Mysteries of Life, yet taunts Annihilation. The Predator holds his prey in a Simple Love Embrace as he devours it.

Past mistakes reach forward, unrelenting, to sting.

About the Piece: "Post Nuclear Pest" is crafted in the style of a large necklace, with a bungee cord running through the lathe-turned Monterey Cypress and Camphor head, thorax and abdomen. The hardware on the leg joints accents the man-made quality of the bug. Its Olivewood proboscis has a protruding stainless steel hypodermic needle piercing a human hand carved from a boxwood branch. It has black walnut eyes and Pacific yew attenae.

The playful, toy-like appearance is in juxtaposition to the malevolence and foreboding it exudes.

Dimensions: 20" X 30" X 12"

Post Nuclear Pest was featured in the Limner Gallery's "Art Biologic" and DirectArt magazine.
